Here’s my story of me riding on the Banana Boat Ride in our first resort in Fiji. I learned something that day- Banana Boat Rides were fun. Really fun. !!

I stuck my hand in the air and gave the boat driver a thumbs up. Our banana boat ride was going too slow, and I wanted to go a little faster. I couldn’t believe I was doing this – it felt insane!!
The water splashed and crashed against the side of the big inflatable banana as we sped up. I looked back at my brothers, Elijah and Connor, then at Mum – they were all squealing in delight.
We turned and I overbalanced a little, so instead of focusing on the rough waves around me, I focused on the rope attaching our ride to the boat, where the driver sat. He looked back at us, and I made a circle with my index finger and my thumb to indicate that the current speed was okay.
The driver did a sharp turn, then straightened out quickly to make lots of large waves. I gripped the rope handle so hard that my knuckles almost went white as we rode up and down on the waves a couple of times. I was having so much fun!
We started slowing down, and I realised we were back at the resort. I almost missed the banana boat ride already, but mum promised me we could go parasailing next once we checked out the price. (Come on, mum!!!)
We got pulled onto the shallow waters and I leapt off the banana and onto the soft sand. My feet sunk into the ground, and I loved the feeling. I wanted another banana boat ride, but I guess it wasn’t so bad back at the resort, either!!
